Join us on a little adventure south to learn about the wonders of tequila and mezcal! By law, Tequila must be made in Mexico, and it's made by distilling the fermented juices of the Weber blue agave plant with water. We'll be learning more about the incredible process behind this distinct spirit, and tasting several tequilas and mezcals together.

About the teacher:
Michael Rice is the owner/operator of Mad Priest Coffee Roasters and the new coffee & cocktail bar on Cherry Street, The Mad Priest. Michael is a Certified Spirits Specialist (CSS), Bar Smarts certified, Cicerone beer server and a member of the United States Bartenders Guild (USBG), as well as SCA certified Coffee Roaster and Green Buyer. Before he opened The Mad Priest in October 2018, he traveled to 11 cities (and Mexico) visiting bars and doing market research to ensure he built the best of the best in Chattanooga. He's been in the beverage industry for over 6 years, so if you're interested in the world of coffee, beer or spirits, Michael is excited to share his passion and experience with you!
