Teacher Spotlight: Kendra Stanton Lee

Our growing class list would be quite difficult to pull off without the awesome instructors - and businesses - we've been so honored to meet.  We'd like to give you the same opportunity to get to know our Chattery teachers a bit better.

Meet Kendra Stanton Lee from Kendraspondence, a talented calligrapher who is leading a class this week at Chattanooga WorkSpace!

Kendra Stanton Lee has been cashing in on her Catholic School penmanship as a calligrapher for over 15 years. She spends her professional days in marketing, but it's handlettering that brings her joy which she loves to share. To see a showcase of her work, check out her instagram @kendraspondence.

How did you get started in your profession?

I was newly married and just lost my job in Boston. I needed to drum up some revenue fast so I began practicing calligraphy. I offered to do some wedding invitations for free and from there, my referrals started growing. Since then, I've attended the Modern Calligraphy Summit to learn more about the craft and network with other calligraphers.

Why do you love Chattanooga?

I love the spirit of supporting local businesses and artisans that flourishes in Chattanooga.

What's one topic you'd like to learn through The Chattery?

I'm interested in basic woodworking.

What's something someone would be surprised to learn about you?

I am working on a book about the relationship between flags and faith.
