Teacher Spotlight: Diana Edwards
Our growing class list would be quite difficult to pull off without the awesome instructors we've been so honored to meet. We'd like to give you the same opportunity to get to know our Chattery teachers a bit better.
So, here are four questions to help get to know our Instant Photo Collage instructor, Diana Edwards.
1. How did you get started in the world of photography?
As far back as I can remember I’ve always felt drawn to using photographs to express how something made me feel when I looked at it. They were all really bad pictures, though. I was just a kid taking dark and blurry snapshots. Then, I took beginning darkroom my senior year of high school and I was hooked. I took another darkroom class in college, and only messed around with it casually here and there over the years. It was an entire decade later that it totally consumed me.
2. Why do you love Chattanooga?
I feel like I’m in a permanent state of relaxation here. During the week I get to enjoy the beautiful riverfront scenery. Then on the weekends, we can go for a hike or pick any direction on the map and find a destination within a two hours.
3. What's one topic you'd like to learn through The Chattery?
The basics of home canning fruits, vegetables, jams, etc.
4. What's something someone would be surprised to learn about you?
There's probably quite a few, but I guess a lot of people might be a surprised to learn I would secretly love to be a dancer. In fact, when I was going to school in Mexico one summer, this love of dancing and a horrible misunderstanding due to the language barrier found me standing in the center of someone’s living room, surrounded by a bunch of people I had never met who had all worked hard behind my back to concoct an entire evening devoted to introducing me to and marrying me off to a dance instructor.
