David Jenkins, author of the history book Baseball in Chattanooga, will explore the world of baseball in the Scenic City prior to the home game versus Montgomery. Jenkins, a member of the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) for more than 20 years, was the Chattanooga Lookouts' beat reporter for 18 years. He has published articles in Baseball America, The Sporting News, and a number of sports hobby publications.
The ticket price includes admission to the game and a $5 Looie chip, good for hot dogs, beer, soft drinks and more at the concession stand. Each registrant can be entered to win a chance to throw out the first pitch of the game. The lecture will begin at 5:30pm at the Lookouts Stadium.
This lecture is a part of Party with the Past, a 4-week history series taking place throughout Chattanooga.
