Listening Skills 101

  • The Edney, Floor Five 1100 Market Street Chattanooga, TN, 37402 United States (map)

With the constant ding of a phone, it’s hard to pay attention to normal everyday conversations. This class will teach you how to ignore your phone and concentrate on your friends, family and co-workers.

In this class, we will:

  • Define listening vs. hearing
  • Explore different methods of communication (verbal, non-verbal, social media, etc.)
  • Roleplay the importance of eye contact, body posture, and "parroting"
  • Practice "active listening" skills with partners in 5-minute conversation scenarios

You’ll walk out with the ability to be a better friend or co-worker and ultimately a better person!

About the teacher:
