Our growing class list would be quite difficult to pull off without the awesome instructors - and businesses - we've been so honored to meet. We'd like to give you the same opportunity to get to know The Chattery teachers a bit better.
Amy Donahue will be leading us in a class about setting goals. Come and learn how she accomplished her list of 30 things before turning 30!
A lover of Chattanooga and a daily advocate for our city, Amy Donahue's day job is the Director of Marketing and Communication for River City Company. Amy joined River City Company with a background in finance and academia having taught at the University of Tennessee Knoxville, the University of South Carolina Aiken and the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. Along with teaching, Donahue has a research background and has presented original research for the National Communication Association and the Southern States Communication Association. Donahue holds a Master of Science in Communication and Information and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Tennessee. When not promoting Downtown Chattanooga or being active in her community, Amy's typically planning her next travel destination with husband Chance, being a proud new aunt to Owen, hiking a local trail or cooking a mean lasagna.
Why do you love Chattanooga?
I love Chattanooga because as a ChattaNewbie five years ago, my husband and I found a community that welcomed us with open arms. Plus, you can't be bored in this city. There's always something to do especially outdoors.
What's one topic you'd like to learn through The Chattery?
My husband's really into home brewing; he started because he took the class at The Chattery actually. I'd like to do it just so we can do it together.
What's something someone would be surprised to learn about you?
Growing up, I was jokingly referred to as Vada ("My Girl" reference) because my dad owned a funeral home.
