Our growing class list would be quite difficult to pull off without the awesome instructors - and businesses - we've been so honored to meet. We'd like to give you the same opportunity to get to know The Chattery teachers a bit better.
Learn more about Paula Dzik below, who will be leading us in a sold out Journaling 101 class!
Paula Dzik is in her mid-40s and looks more like her mother every day. Step-mother to two teen girls, she is skilled at ignoring sibling rivalries while drinking Mike's Hard Lemonade. A Marketing Strategist, Paula has spent her career explaining to friends that she's not the one who designs the brochure...or conceives of the tv spot...or knows reporters; nope, she's a project manager who also crunches data (Marketing doesn't sound so sexy now, does it?). She dabbles in writing nonfiction humor, binge watches TV while on the treadmill, and listens to podcasts.
How did you get started in your profession?
I started journaling in elementary school. Someone gave me a Snoopy diary and I wrote all about my crushes and petty fights. And frankly, that's what I've written about ever since!
Why do you love Chattanooga?
I'm teaching this class as a way to help me love Chattanooga more! I'm new-ish to town and am looking for interesting topics to learn and clever people to learn with. (Yes, I ended a sentence with a preposition; it happens)
What's one topic you'd like to learn through The Chattery?
How to stay motivated to cook dinner and not buy take out instead
What's something someone would be surprised to learn about you?
Five years ago I took a year off to travel the U.S. I sold my house, bought an RV, and drove 26,134 miles. I visited 23 states on that trip, and have been to 46 in my life. Up next: Alaska, Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota.
